Airplane Static

December 19, 2008

img_10183img_10162This happened when there were interferences on the airplane TVs on my Delta flight. Thought it was cool how the colors actually have no reference to the visuals of the show that was on.

Actually, He DOES exist.

Every Christmas, someone brings up that cynically realistic article explaining that if Santa Claus really existed that “The entire reindeer team will be vaporized within 4.26 thousanths of a second” and such.

Well, this article, citing astrophysicists and elf experts (all with shockingly nordic names), explains how Santa Claus is physically possible.

Here’s a taste:

Santa Claus doesn’t travel in our four dimensions (remember that time is the fourth dimension), but makes use of some 11 dimensions. These dimensions make it quite easy to pick up gifts from his warehouse at the North Pole,” emphasises Knut Jørgen Røed Oedegaard, while Nils Lid Hjort and Gaute Einevoll feel that recent string-theory allows for the use of at least 26 dimensions.

AUDITORIUM is a game about abstract spatial analysis. The rules are meant to be figured out intuitively and there are usually several ways to solve each puzzle. It’s pretty addicting.

MONKEY: Journey to the West

December 1, 2008

Damon Albarn (musician, Blur, Gorillaz), Jamie Hewlett (animator, Tank Girl, Gorillaz) and Chinese Director Chen Shi-Zheng made an opera called MONKEY: Journey to the West. Based on a 400 year old Chinese folk tale.

You can read about it, and watch stuff here.

There is an album that goes with it. Here are some tracks from it that I found on seekpod.
